Blogging On The Go

Certain CMS’s such as Wordpress allow you to register an e-mail address which will automatically post any e-mails received as articles on your blog. Now obviously this is not some e-mail address your going to want to tell everyone, or be so easy to guess that it might be on some random e-mail spammer. Instead the uses of this range from submitting a post at an Internet cafe where you don’t feel comfortable to enter the password for your site due to possible keyloggers, as well as just on the go devices. Other such uses include if you want to release a post at a certain time you can write it up at home, and then just submit it to your e-mail from your phone/laptop from wherever you are to that e-mail address. Although I’m pretty big on trying out everything that’s new, at least for a bit before throwing it aside for something newer, I actually find myself using this quite often on some of my other blogs.

I know some of my blogging friends actually type up their articles on their Blackberries or even a PSP (Playstation Portable), however I don’t really see that being an effective way of blogging, as you spend more time typing in the letters than you do actually thinking about your post, as well as html being a drag if you want to format your post in even the most simplest ways.

Have any of you had personal experiences in using this form of On-The-Go blogging, and if so did you find it useful and effective?

Even Wordpress’s original editor gives me problems with editing and writing posts. So publishing through the mail is really not n option for me.

However, it’s a nice feature.

I only published my posts from Wordpress itself, although the e-mail posting feature is really useful; just haven’t had the opportunity to use it :P
